Amy Dunn Smith, CFRE
With over two decades of professional development experience, Amy Dunn Smith has helped numerous nonprofit organizations advance their missions. As a Senior Consultant, Amy leads Mission Advancement’s practice in the greater San Antonio area.
A passionate advocate for education, Amy previously served as Executive Director of the Alamo Heights School Foundation where she increased annual and endowment giving, led a strategic planning process and rebranding, and restructured the annual giving program. Prior to AHSF, Amy helped lead the San Antonio Academy’s strategic planning efforts and led the school advancement program’s shift towards a greater focus on major giving to meet its initial endowment goal of $15 million.
Her extensive consulting experience includes working with public school districts and securing private funding through education foundations. In addition to her work to advance education, Amy has worked with the National MS Society, SAMMinistries, Kinetic Kids, the San Antonio Symphony, and St. Anthony Catholic School. She began her fundraising career in San Antonio’s arts community, working for both The McNay Art Museum and The Witte Museum.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Business from Trinity University. She obtained her CFRE credentials in 2005. Amy and her husband, Thomas, and children, Joaquin and Serafina, live in San Antonio and are active members of their church.
