Linda Akau
Document Manager

Linda has more than 20 years of experience providing administrative support in the nonprofit fundraising field. In her role as Document Manager with Mission Advancement, she utilizes her comprehensive skills to create/proof/edit a wide range of documents – from proposals, contracts, and presentations for the Sales Team to client-specific documents for the Client Services Team. She also maintains all pertinent information on the company’s SharePoint site.

Prior to joining Mission Advancement, Linda served in administrative support roles in a Biophysics lab and the President’s Office at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In these roles, she interacted with top-level executives and professors, arranged travel, worked on a variety of documents and spreadsheets, and updated processes so administrative systems in both areas flowed more efficiently.

A native Texan, Linda spent most her life in the Dallas area. However, in late 2016, she and her husband, Derrick, moved to his hometown of Kamuela, Hawaii, and are now unofficial tour guides when family and friends come to visit. Linda and Derrick met and married at the church they attended in Texas and now serve in their historic local church on the Big Island. Between them, they have six children and seven grandchildren. When they aren’t working, they stay busy keeping up with their mixed breed puppy named Malu (“Shadow” in English) and taking care of a wide range of chores on their ranch.
