Mission Advancement Welcomes Steve Bult as Incoming President
When Schuyler and I started Mission Advancement more than 18 years ago, we believed that nonprofits deserved partners who could help them raise money in a way that strengthened both their missions and their people.
Since then, we’ve been privileged to walk alongside hundreds of organizations, from local ministries to national institutions, helping them build capacity and fuel the important work they do every day.
In recent years, our team has grown in both size and impact. We’ve expanded into new markets, built long-term relationships with clients across the country, and helped raise billions of dollars for causes that matter.
None of this has happened by accident. It has taken a team of talented, committed people working together to keep mission at the center of fundraising.
As Mission Advancement continues to grow, it has become clear that expanding our leadership team is the right step forward. To continue serving our clients with excellence and to strengthen the culture we’ve built, we need more hands and more voices at the table.
That is why I am excited to share that Steve Bult will be joining Mission Advancement in August 2026 as our incoming President.
Steve has spent his career leading with wisdom, humility, and a heart for people. As Head of School at Wheaton Academy, he guided a thriving community of faculty, staff, and students, building both financial strength and a culture people are proud to be part of. Steve will continue serving the Wheaton Academy community through the 2025–26 school year before stepping into his new role with us in August 2026.
Steve also knows Mission Advancement from the client side, having worked with us in the past. That perspective is invaluable. He understands the challenges nonprofit leaders face, as well as the trust required to invite a partner into your mission.
Schuyler will continue as Founder and Chairman, and I will remain in my role as CEO. With Steve joining as President, our leadership team will be better equipped to support the nonprofits we serve.
This is not about changing who we are, but about making sure we have the right structure in place to carry our mission forward for years to come.
I am grateful for every person who has been part of Mission Advancement’s story so far. This next chapter will allow us to grow without losing sight of what matters most: helping nonprofits thrive so they can impact the world in meaningful ways.
