A seasoned nonprofit fundraising consultant, Sara Wise has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector, with over 18 years serving organizations in education, social services, cultural, and fine arts.
Sara’s professional experience includes fundraising at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Virginia, the Episcopal School of Dallas, American Red Cross Greater Houston Chapter, and the Houston Zoo. Since launching her consulting business in 2016, Sara has worked with over a dozen nonprofits to execute development strategy, events, board retreats, capital campaigns, and more. Clients include the Center for Houston’s Future, Lone Star Flight Museum, Montgomery County Food Bank, Susan G. Komen Houston, Aldine Education Foundation, Humble Area Assistance Ministries, Hope and Healing Center, NAMI Greater Houston, and Social Motion Inc., among others. Sara is thrilled to work with nonprofits of all sizes to assist with the implementation of best practices and strong infrastructure for future success.
Beyond her work, Sara serves the community as the 2019 President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Houston Chapter and the 2018 and 2019 Chair of the Salvation Army’s Youth of the Year Scholarship event. In addition, she is Vice President of Communications for the 2019 Texas Executive Women Board, a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Executive Committee, a member of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Ladies for Literacy Guild, and a member of the Strawbridge United Methodist Church Council (Kingwood, TX) and Campaign Leadership Committee. In 2018, Sara was named one of ten Women on the Move for the Texas Executive Women organization.
A summa cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University, Sara is married to the Honorable Ken Wise, a justice on the 14th Court of Appeals and host of the wildly popular Wise About Texas history podcast. She is also the proud mother to two children, Jackson and Sarah Jane.
