Coffee & Conversation:
Do you need a Planning Study?
Maybe you have wondered, “What do you need to know before embarking on a capital campaign?” The short answer is, “many things.” The longer answer would certainly include:
- How our supporters will react to our vision and plans
- Who our constituents view as natural leaders
- What prospective donors have the greatest capacity to give
- The availability of the largest gifts
These are a small part of what can be gained by conducting a pre-campaign planning study.
Before embarking on a capital campaign, many organizations choose to conduct a planning study to assess potential. But studies are much more than just a survey that benchmark donors’ interest and willingness to give. Enjoy this virtual conversation to learn more about what you should and shouldn’t expect a study to do, when a study makes sense (and when it doesn’t), and hear some great case studies from the Mission Advancement team.
